Avocado-Orange On Honey Wheat Bread with Poblano cilantro citrusy cream dressing

by Priyanka posted at 9:53 PM 3 comments

I have got my creative mojo back- The dressing for this recipe is an adaptation from The Panera Sandwich cookbook where it was used as a rub for a pot roast...i made some minor changes and used it as a spread for my avocado-orange honey wheat sandwich.

I would have loved to bake a bread from scratch but time wouldnt permit. Moreover, I can no way beat Cheesecake Factory's Honey Wheat Baguette- it is out of the world delicious.

I served my sandwich with some spinach & carrot soup......

Ingredients
Serves 1

Half an avacado- sliced
4 pieces of oranges
6 inch honey wheat bread

For the poblano-cilantro citrusy spread

One-half poblano cut into pieces
2 tsp cilantro
2 tsp chopped avocado
2 tsp mexican crema
4 pieces oranges

1. Put all the above mentioned ingredients for the spread thru a blender and make a paste- shouldnt be completely smooth.
2. Warm the honey wheat bread in the oven, slice it horizontally and finely apply the spread on both sides
3. Place the sliced avocado and orange slices alternately.

4. Serve with the soup or some leafy salad.
